Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move
Gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove.
Oh, oh, child, way you shake that thing
Gonna make you burn, gonna make you sting.
Hey, hey, baby, when you walk that way
Watch your honey drip, can't keep away.

*Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah.
 Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah.

I gotta roll, can't stand still,
Got a flame in my heart, can't get my fill,
Eyes that shine burning red,
Dreams of you all thru my head.

Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah.

Hey, baby, oh, baby, pretty baby,
Tell me what you do me now.
(Repeat)

Didn't take too long 'fore I found out
What people mean my down and out.
Spent my money, took my car,
Started tellin' her friends she wants to be a star.
I don't know but I been told
A big legged woman ain't got no soul.

* Chorus

All I ask for when I pray,
Steady rollin' woman gonna come my way.
Need a woman gonna hold my hand
And tell me no lies, make me a happy man.

It's been a long time since I Rock and Rolled,
It's been a long time since I did the Stroll.
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back,
Let me get it back, baby, where I come from.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
Yes it has.

It's been a long time since the book of love,
I can't count the tears of a life with no love.
Carry me back, carry me back,
Carry me back, baby, where I come from.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.

Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight,
Making vows that just can't work right.
Open your arms, opens your arms,
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.

Queen of Light took her bow
And then she turned to go,
The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom
And walked the night alone.

Oh, dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the morn - ing light.
                The dark Lord rides in force tonight
And time will tell us all.

Oh, throw down your plow and hoe,
Rest not to lock your homes.

Side by side we wait the might
Of the darkest of them all.

I hear the horses' thunder
Down in the valley blow,
I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon,
Waiting for the eastern glow.

The apples of the valley hold,
The seas of happiness,
The ground is rich from tender care,
Repay, do not forget, no, no.
                     Oh,-------dance in the dark of night,
                               sing to the morning light.

The apples turn to brown and black,
The tyrant's face is red.

Oh the war is common cry,
Pick up you swords and fly.
                       The sky is filled with good and bad
That mortals never know.

Oh, well, the night is long
The beads of time pass slow,
Tired eyes on the sunrise,
Waiting for the eastern glow.

The pain of war cannot exceed
The woe of aftermath,
The drums will shake the castle wall,
The ring wraiths ride in black,
Ride on.

Sing as you raise your bow,
Shoot straighter than before.
                         No comfort has the fire at night
That lights the face so cold.

Oh dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the mornin'        light.
                    The magic runes are writ in gold
To bring the balance back.
Bring it back.

At last the sun is shining,
The clouds of blue roll by,
With flames from the dragon of darkness
The sunlight blinds his eyes.

There's a lady who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

There's a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook
There's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There's a feeling I get
When I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen
Rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who standing looking.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it's whispered that soon
If we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter.

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow
Don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.
And it makes me wonder.

Your head is humming and it won't go
In case you don't know,
The piper's calling you to join him,
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow,
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind.

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How ev'rything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

Walkin' in the park just the other day, Baby,
What do you, what do you think I saw?
Crowds of people sittin' on the grass with flowers in their hair said,
"Hey, Boy, do you wanna score?"
And you know how it is;
I really don't know what time it was, woh, oh,
So I asked them if I could stay awhile.

I didn't notice but it had got very dark and I was really,
Really out of my mind.
Just then a policeman stepped up to me and asked us said,
"Please, hey, would we care to all get in line,
Get in line."
Well you know,
They asked us to stay for tea and have some fun,
Oh, oh, he said that his friends would all drop by, ooh.

Why don't you take a good look at yourself and describe what you see,
And Baby, Baby, Baby, do you like it?
There you sit, sitting spare like a book on a shelf rustin'
Ah, not trying to fight it.
You really don't care if they're coming, oh, oh,
I know that it's all a state of mind, ooh.

If you go down in the streets today, Baby, you better,
You better open your eyes.
Folk down there really don't care, really don't care, don't care, really don't
Which, which way the pressure lies,
So I've decided what I'm gonna do now.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains
Where the spirits go now,
Over the hills where the spirits fly, ooh.
I really don't know.

Oh, Baby, it's cryin' time,
Oh, Baby, I got to fly.
Got to try to find a way,
Got to try to get away,
'Cause you know I gotta get away from you, Babe.

Oh, Baby, the river's red,
Oh, Baby, in my head.
There's a funny feelin' goin' on,
I don't think I can hold out long.

*And when the owls cry in the night,
 Oh, Baby, Baby, when the pines begin to cry,
 Baby, Baby, Baby, how do you feel?
 If the river runs dry, Baby,
 How do you feel?

Craze, Baby, the rainbow's end,
Mmm, Baby, it's just a den
For those who hide,
Who hide their love to depths of life
And ruin dreams that we all knew so, Babe.

* Chorus

Spent my days with a woman unkind,
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start,
Going To California with an aching in my heart.

Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.
Took my chances on a big jet plane,
Never let them tell you that they're all the same.

The sea was red and the sky was grey,
Wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today.
The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake
As the children of the sun began to awake.

Seems that the wrath of the Gods
Got a punch on the nose and it started to flow;
I think I might be sinking.
Throw me a line if I reach it in time
I'll meet you up there where the path
Runs straight and high.

To find a queen without a king;
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings.
La la la la
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems.

If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break,
If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break,
When The Levee Breaks I'll have no place to stay.

Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Lord, mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home,
Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well.

Don't it make you feel bad
When you're tryin' to find your way home,
You don't know which way to go?
If you're goin' down South
They go no work to do,
If you don't know about Chicago.

Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
Now, cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move.

All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
Thinkin' 'bout me baby and my happy home.
Going, go'n' to Chicago,
Go'n' to Chicago,
Sorry but I can't take you.
Going down, going down now, going down.

The 12/93 issues of Guitar World, interestingly enough, contains a
transcription on page 67 that shows the tuning as (low to high)

Here is _MY_ Rain Song tab. In other words, the definitive one (until
someone challenges my genius).

Tuning: EAEABE (ignore the marks to the left of each staff, it was
generated by the editor)

This is somewhat simplified. I mean, strumming and arpeggiation varies,
so I'm not going to get into note for note perfection. Plus the fills in
around the heavy part, you work it out yourself. And just put together
these tab sections in the proper structure to learn what to play and
when, but this is essentially everything you need to know to play the
song. There is some question as to position on some of this stuff, but I
opted for the easiest position (often up the neck quite a bit which is
unusual, but this tuning leads you there).

Key:
	В  -  Bend
	Н  -  Hammer On
	Р  -  Pull Off
	VV -  Vibrato
	/  -  Slide Up
	\  -  Slide Down

NOTES:

0 Upstroke on the intro here

1 Let those two open strings ring out if you like

2 This is the live variant with the hammeron/off licks

3 This is the extended bridge area where Jones swells with his
mellotron. Otherwise, skip past this to 4.

4 Heading back to the verse here

5 The heavy part, insert fills, 1st and/or 7th position

6 The coda. How he played up there on an acoustic in the album version is
beyond me. There must be a way to play it in a lower position, but I
can't figure it out. This is definitely how he does it (positionwise) in
TSRTS. To play the last chord ala the album, strum right next to the
bridge for a biting tone with all open strings. To play it ala live
version, strum with your pick halfway between the bridge and the 12th fret
for a keyboardy harmonicy rubbery tone. If you watch TSRTS I believe he
casts his pick away for the the last part of the coda so he's
fingerpicking it. Singleframe through it, you'll see the pick fly!

Also remember to use delay on most of this song, and distortion for the
heavy part.

Here's another Zep tab no one should be without, The Rain Song.
This is my interpretation of the song, but it is the most accurate
to me of any I've seen. Enjoy.

=============================================================

I posted this elsewhere, but here is my version of RS, and once you play
it and compare to the fingerings shown in the movie, you will know it to
be the one true tab.

Also remember to use delay on most of this song, and distortion for the
heavy part.

 From: Alexey Smirnov

Я был на концерте Led Zeppelin(6 Июня 1998, Канзас-Сити, Канзас, США), и я

Deep Purple -
Smoke on the Water - дым над водой - там

Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin/Light and Shade by Cameron Crowe, и я

Sony).

Petersburg. Guitar World, June 1998, "On the same Page" by Alan di
Baby I'm gonna leave
:-)

Thank You (Led Zeppelin II, October 22, 1969)

~~~~~ ~~~
If the sun refused to shine,    Если бы солнце оказалось светить в небе
I would still be lovin' you.    Я все равно любил бы тебя
When mountains crumble to the sea,      И когда скалы обрушатся в море
There'll still be you and me.    Мы все равно будем вместе
Kind woman, I give you my all,  Милая моя, я отдаю тебе всего себя
Kind woman, nothing more.       Милая, ничего больше
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain, Крошечные капли дождя шепчут о боли,
Tears of loves lost in the days gone by. Слезах разбитых сердец, потерянных
в ушедших днях
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong, Моя любовь сильна, с тобою
рядом я в полном порядке
Together we shall go until we die. И мы пройдем вместе до самой смерти
My, my, my,  Мое (вдохновение)
Inspiration's what you are to me, Вдохновение, вот что Ты для меня
Inspiration, look see. Вдохновение, посмотри (и) увидь (это)
And so today, my world it smiles, И сегодня мир улыбается мне
Your hand in mine, we walk the miles, Твоя рука в моей и мы проходим милю
за милей
Thanks to you it will be done, Благодаря тебе я смогу сделать это
For you to me are the only one. Потому что ты единственная в моей жизни
Happiness, no more be sad, СЧАСТЬЕ ... не нужно больше слов ...
Happiness....I'm glad. СЧАСТЬЕ ... (сердце мое переполненно) радостью
=============
Вот так перевел - не взыщите, я очень старался - а теперь идите и слушайте!
Фокусы - когда Пэйдж "разошелся-разогрелся" игрался с какой-то штуковиной -
как вертикальная антенна - он подносит ладони, а штуковина ... Уа-Уа-УВВа -
во игрался как ребенок! :-) По моему это есть в Whole Lotta Love?
Да, с двумя стульчаками - это наверное была White Summer/Black Mountain
Side но не уверен, не взыщите - там ведь Плант не поет - вот коленки и
поджал, а иначе как воздуху в легкие набрать? :).
Прощались элегантно - представили других музыкантов - клавишника,
барабанщика и басиста - эй чучело, пять человек? По моему да! :-(
Потом обнялись за плечи и поклонились на три стороны а-ля Beatles :-)
Приятно было видеть такое отношение с их стороны - ведь публика пришла на
НИХ двоих, но ЭТИХ двоих как обычно меньше всего волнует, что о них думают
- обнимались друг с дружкой, все пятеро и не фальшиво это было - нет душевно!
Че еще - Америка, какая-то сраная фирма предлагала за $35 долларов купить
нераспроданные в 1980 билеты на их концерт в Чикаго 25 Сентября 1980. В
тот-же день после пьянки неудачно повернувшись, задохнулся во сне
барабанщик John Bonham - Led Zeppelin прекратил свое существование. Как
поет Макаревич - "Зато любой войдет сюда за пятачок, чтоб в пушку затолкать
бычок ..." Противно ...
Ну вот и все, а остальное, как напившаяся и ошалевшая молодежь, с трудом
находившая слова кроме fuck! которой объясняли старшие, где Led Zeppelin, а
где новые песни - так при чем тут Америка? :-)
А марихуана воняла, как трава с газона, это-ж сладкий дым должен быть, а не
как горящие прерии. На обратном пути сосед по автобусу признался, что у
него есть Афганский конопель и Российский - чучело! Украинский! :-)
Собеседник оказался интересный. Инженер-механик, что то ТОЖЕ?! :-)
Хочет поменять американское гражданство на подданство Ямайки. Мне стыдно за
Америку - нет больше свободы в ЭТОЙ стране - как мы мир топчем - какого
черта? стыдно! Вот уйду на пенсию, и к девченке своей на Ямайку! Я
расправил свой игрушечный "Веселый Роджер" примерно 30х40 см, купленный в
местном супере - ЭТОТ дух? Порт Рояль был в течение 18-19? столетия -  во
позор! не знаю точно, но дело было ТАМ, столицей мирового пиратства,
который потом разрушило до тла страшное землятресение. Многие говорят за
грехи тяжкие, неа, я думаю совпадение просто! :-)
Мужик глянул на флажок, рассмеялся, и сказал: "Yes, just keep West from
Florida!" - Ага, просто держи Западный курс от побережья Флориды! ...
Искренне Ваш,
Алексей Смирнов © между прочим! :-)
